What is The Sacramento Dancesport Project?

The Sacramento Dancesport Project is a same-sex dance collective.

When we started in 2001, we were the first same-sex dance organization in Sacramento.  As our dancers grew, so did our Project.

Classes

We teach weekly classes suitable for all dance abilities.  Our goal is to reach the gay community -- but everyone is welcome in our classes regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.  We believe in bringing people together through dance.

Competitions

The Sacramento Dancesport Project also trains competitive dancers.

There are opportunities for all levels of interested dancers to compete.

Our dancers have won championship titles in almost every competition they have entered.  Some big wins include:
  • The World Federation of Same-Sex Dancing Championships in Europe

  • The 5-Boro Challenge in New York City

  • Gay Games in Chicago

  • Pink Jukebox Trophy in London

...and many more!

Productions

The Sacramento Dancesport Project is also a seasoned production company.  The Project sponsors multiple shows each year.  Some feature student work.  Others are made up of entirely professional dancers.

We believe that gay art has the power to express, educate and change.  Come participate!  Dance in or watch one of our upcoming shows.

Community

The Sacramento Dancesport Project values community -- and works hard to give back.  We regularly donate our services to those in need, and to help others raise the money they need to tackle issues that make a difference to our community.
